Pennypacker Mills, the historic home of former Pennsylvania Governor Samuel W. Pennypacker has announced the following upcoming events in April.
Spring Workshop for Kids
Saturday, April 2, 2022, 10 a.m. to Noon
Bring your creativity and scissor skills to the Mills for a workshop that will get you into spring. We’ll be making four kid-friendly crafts to share with friends or family: a fun “moveable” card, a unique colorful dragon fly pin, an Easter bunny craft, and a wooden frame with vintage inspired artwork where kids can add their picture. All supplies provided. Children ages 5-10 years old accompanied by one adult can pre-register. The cost to participate is $5 per child. Please call (610) 287-9349 to register.
Stereographing America: A 3-D History of Stereographs
Sunday, April 24, 2022, 1 p.m.
Come to Pennypacker Mills for a fascinating, in-depth talk about the history of stereographs. Learn how these devices were the longest running types of photography spanning from daguerreotypes to modern day. Visitors will be able to view many of the stereographs in 3-D, using a lorgnette, which the site will provide for use in the second floor galleries.
To pre-register for this free gallery talk, call (610) 287-9349. Guided tours are also available between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., by pre-registration. Tours take approximately 1 hour, the last tour is at 3 p.m.

About Pennypacker Mills
Looking for an interesting place to visit that’s close to home? Pennypacker Mills is the answer! This historic site is open year-round for free guided tours of the home of Pennsylvania Governor Samuel Pennypacker and his family. Known for its collection of 18th and 19th century decorative arts, furnishings, personal and official documents, the story of this famous Pennsylvania family reflects the lives of those who lived in Montgomery County in the early 1900’s.
Pennypacker Mills is open Tuesdays thru Saturdays: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sundays: 1 to 4 p.m., with the last tour at 3 p.m. each day. Pennypacker Mills is closed on Mondays, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. Tours take approximately one hour and are free, with a suggested donation of $2 per person.
Pennypacker Mills is operated by the Montgomery County Division of Parks, Trails, and Historic Sites. Pennypacker Mills is located off Route 73 (Skippack Pike) at 5 Haldeman Road, Schwenksville, PA 19473.
