Colonial States Athletic Conference recently issued the following announcement.
The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce the Weekly Award winners for April 4, 2022. This includes Players of the Week in Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s Volleyball, Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field, Women’s Tennis, Softball and Baseball as well as Honor Roll selections in each sport. This will be the last Men’s Volleyball awards for the season.
A total of 48 student-athletes were honored.
Men’s Lacrosse
Player of the Week
Dante Poli | Stockton University | A | Sr. | Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South
Poli scored nine goals in two games, including four goals and four assists in a win over Montclair State.
Defensive Player of the Week
Tyler Horvath | Stockton University | F/O | So. | Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South
Horvath was 30-39 on face-offs (.769) last week in two games and scooped 18 ground balls. He grabbed a career-high 17 ground balls against Neumann that tied for 3rd in a single game at Stockton. In that same game he won 29-35 (.828) face-offs

Franzone turned in a 4-0 week with two wins apiece in doubles and singles in two matches against Rosemont. She had wins of 6-1, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and was then victorious at No. 1 doubles in both matches, winning 8-1 and 8-0 in the two matches, respectively.

Cairn’s Brianna Miller who went 4-0 for the week, picking up a 6-4, 6-1 win in No. 2 Singles at Neumann on Friday before earning a 6-0, 6-0 triumph in the No. 1 slot against Clarks Summit on Saturday. Paired with junior Paige Kemper to win 8-2 at No. 1 Doubles against Neumann and won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles with classmate Rachel Campbell-Robertson against the Defenders on Saturday.

Track Athlete of the Week
Eric Gregory | Gallaudet University | So. | Metairie, La./East Jefferson
Gregory improved on two of his school records last Saturday at the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point University in North Carolina. The sophomore sprinter set a personal best and school record in the 400-meter dash as he came in first overall in the participation event with a blistering time of 48.00 seconds. That time best his previous top time of 49.57 set last month at the Myrtle Beach Collegiate Challenge. The 48.00 seconds is the top men's time in NCAA Division III so far this season and puts him in good position to qualify for the NCAA national championship meet in May. Gregory also lowered his school record time in the 200-meter dash as he posted a time of 21.24 seconds in the finals and placed sixth overall. The previous school record Gregory held was 21.39 seconds set on April 20, 2019 at the Gallaudet University Invitational. Earlier in the day, Gregory finished seventh overall in the 100-meter participation event with a time of 11.03 seconds. His time was the second fastest from a Division III runner in the event.
Field Athlete of the Week
Dylan Perlino | Alfred State University | Sr. | Holland, N.Y./Holland
Perlino won discus with a throw of 48.53m (159-2) at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational and is currently ranked 6th in NCAA DIII for discus. Perlino broke his own hammer throw record for the second time this season after throwing 51.76m (169-10) to place 3rd and break his own program record he originally set at the end of the 2021 season and reset last week. He is currently ranked 16th in NCAA DIII for hammer. He finished 15th in shot put with 11.84m (38-10 ¼).

Keystone’s Cameren Price who placed 22nd in the 800 and 30th in the 1500 at the Millersvile Metrics…Alfred State’s Gavin Bathgate won the 3000-meter steeplechase at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational. Bathgate won by 12 seconds and finished in 9:58.29…Keystone’s Adrian Viruet who finished 19th in the javelin with a throw of 48.39m at the Millersville Metrics.

Track Athlete of the Week
Abril Riley | Cedar Crest College | Fr. | Levittown, Pa./Harry S. Truman
Riley set new personal records in the 100 and 200 meter dash events at the Muhlenberg Invitational. She ran the 100-meter dash in 15.00 seconds and 31.65 seconds in the 200- meter event.
Field Athlete of the Week
Tiffany Kuras | Cedar Crest College | Fr. | Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg
Kuras finished as the runner-up in the javelin event at the Muhlenberg Invitational, breaking the school record with a mark of 36.53 meters, which also ranks tied for 34th in the country. Kuras also competed in the discus event, placing 18th with a mark of 26.83 meters.

Keystone’s Rachel Drumheiser who placed 18th in the hammer at the Millersville Metrics with a throw of 38.70 meters…Gallaudet’s Hannah Wetzel who finished 20th overall in the triple jump as she recorded a top jump of 10.26 meters (33 feet, eight inches) on the first of three attempts. Prior to the triple jump, Wetzel placed 32nd in the long jump as she leaped 4.82 meters (15 feet, 9.75 inches) on the second of three jumps at the VertKlasse Meet hosted by High Point…Alfred State’s Nicole Hume who finished 8th in discus with 33.57m (110-1), 10th in hammer with 38.15m (125-2) and was 19th in shot put with 9.78m (32-1) at the Geneseo Early Season Invitational.
