WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA-02) released the statement below following the EPA announcement of a new framework to prevent unsafe PFAS from entering the market:

“As a legislator who has long fought for the proper regulation of PFAS chemicals, I applaud the EPA’s new framework to prevent unsafe PFAS from entering the market without extensive research and evaluation. We have all witnessed how these chemicals have devastated countless households across the country. This continued support from the EPA and the Biden Administration will provide the EPA with powerful tools in its ongoing efforts to regulate these pervasive forever chemicals. This framework will provide increased safety and oversight for our environment and for everyday Americans.”
Congressman Boyle is a founding member of the Congressional PFAS Task Force. He has secured more than $160 million in government funding for cleaning up, studying, and preventing future PFAS contamination
