513 coaches at institutions in Montgomery County earned $23,956 on average in 2022

Montgomery County’s 513 coaches earned an average salary of $23,956 in 2022, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

This is the fifth lowest average salary per county earned by coaches at Pennsylvania post-secondary schools during 2022.

Montgomery County is home to eight post-secondary schools that paid coaches during 2022. Among them, Ursinus College stood out with the highest average coaching salary of $47,548.

Male coaches of men's teams received $27,894 on average in Montgomery County, while female coaches in charge of women's teams earned an average of $24,749.

Research from the Vanderbilt Owen Graduate School of Management found NCAA coaches are compensated like CEOs, with top coaches earning more than $1.5 million annually.
