Congressman Dwight Evans, representing Pennsylvania's 3rd district since 2016, has taken to social media to express his views on recent political developments. Evans, who succeeded Chaka Fattah and previously served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1981 to 2016, has voiced criticism of the current alignment between Senate Republicans and the Musk-Trump Administration.
On February 20, 2025, Evans criticized Senate Republicans for their voting patterns with the Musk-Trump Administration while simultaneously seeking financial benefits for their states. He described this behavior as "pathetic" and urged Congressional Republicans to collaborate with Democrats to uphold laws passed by Congress intended to deliver services. "While Senate Republicans continue to vote with the Musk-Trump Administration, they’re also begging to 'let money flow back into their states.' This is pathetic."
Later that day, Evans commented on what he perceives as a priority shift among Republican Congress members towards appeasing the Musk-Trump Administration over protecting constituents' interests. He noted that even DOGE agrees with this sentiment. "Even DOGE agrees — so far, the Republicans who control Congress seem more worried about appeasing the Musk/Trump Administration than protecting their own constituents."
In another post on February 20, Evans reached out directly to individuals potentially affected by actions from President Trump, Elon Musk, and Congressional Republicans. He invited them to share personal stories regarding any impacts on jobs, families, or communities. "Have the recent actions of President Trump, Elon Musk, and Congressional Republicans impacted you, your job, your family or your community? Your experience matters and I want to hear from you."
