Congressman Dwight Evans, representing Pennsylvania’s 3rd district, has been vocal on social media regarding recent political and economic issues. In a series of tweets, he expressed concerns about the impact of current policies on American citizens.

On March 5, 2025, Evans stated that "Most Americans did NOT vote for higher prices." He criticized the White House and Congressional Republicans for focusing on their "billionaire donor buddies" while neglecting the needs of hard-working Americans. This statement was made in response to Co-president Trump's promise to lower prices from day one of his term, which Evans noted had not been fulfilled by day 44. The full tweet can be accessed here.

Later that same day, Evans commented on President Trump's proposed tariffs, stating unequivocally that "Tariffs are taxes. Period." He argued that these tariffs would effectively act as taxes on essential goods such as food and clothing for hard-working Americans. His tweet emphasized the financial burden these tariffs could impose. The complete post is available here.

In another tweet posted shortly after, Evans remarked on Republican reactions during an event where Trump criticized the Chips & Science Act. He suggested that there was a lack of applause because many found it "AWKWARD," hinting at internal party disagreements or discomfort with Trump's stance. The original tweet can be viewed here.
