Congressman Dwight Evans criticizes Trump speech and reflects on historical practices

Congressman Dwight Evans, representing Pennsylvania's 3rd district since 2016, shared his thoughts on recent political developments through a series of tweets. Known for his long-standing service in the U.S. Congress and previous tenure in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Evans has been vocal about issues affecting working-class Americans.

In a tweet dated March 5, 2025, Evans critiqued former President Donald Trump's recent speech, highlighting several areas he felt were inadequately addressed. Evans also reflected on historical presidential practices in another tweet from the same day. He questioned whether it might be time to return to earlier traditions regarding the State of the Union address. Later that day, Evans met with members of the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU) from Pennsylvania's 3rd District to discuss how actions by the Musk-Trump Administration are impacting federal workers and services in Philadelphia. He expressed concern over Trump's handling of Social Security promises.
