Congressman Dwight Evans, representing Pennsylvania's 3rd district, recently expressed his views on social media regarding various political issues. Known for his long-standing career in politics, Evans has served in the U.S. Congress since 2016 and previously held a position in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

On March 3, 2025, Congressman Evans addressed statements made by co-President Trump regarding Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. "While co-President Trump says he won't 'touch' Medicaid, Medicare, or Social Security, he has already endorsed House Republicans 'big, beautiful bill' that would lead to $880 BILLION in cuts to Medicaid." He concluded his post with a dismissive remark: "I call BS."

In another tweet posted later that day, Evans reflected on his experience as a former chair of the PA House Appropriations Committee. "Having served as PA House Appropriations majority and minority chair for 20 years, if a governor of EITHER party refused to spend appropriated funding, I'd insist on guarantees in the funding we pass into law." He encouraged readers to review his statement on current government funding issues.

Additionally, Congressman Evans criticized Republican actions concerning government funding negotiations. "It's outrageous Republicans would walk away from bipartisan negotiations to fund the government, raising the risk of a wider shutdown than we’re already enduring."
