The 28th Annual Update on Pediatric and Congenital Cardiovascular Disease, known as Cardiology 2025, was hosted at Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, from February 19 to 23. The event, organized by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), gathered professionals and advocates in the field of pediatric cardiology under the theme "Hope, Heal and Learn."
The conference addressed the growing need for collaboration and innovation in pediatric cardiology and highlighted emerging areas such as complex patient care and personalized treatment. Among the focal points were advancements in catheter-based interventions, surgical techniques, and pediatric heart medications aimed at improving survival rates and long-term health outcomes for patients with congenital and acquired heart disease.
Dr. Chitra Ravishankar, an attending physician at CHOP’s Cardiac Center, was recognized with the 2025 Cardiac Center Tribute Award for her significant contributions to the center, her colleagues, and her patients.
This year's conference featured the presentation of over 250 abstracts, showcasing research from centers across the globe. The discussions emphasized the crucial role of multicenter initiatives and evidence-based practices in advancing quality care and outcomes.
Innovation and technology were key topics, along with the importance of mental wellness for healthcare professionals and holistic, family-centered patient support.
Next year, the 29th Annual Update will be held from February 24 through March 1, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa at Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, Arizona.
