On June 19, Suburban Community Hospital celebrated the graduation of its Class of 2025 resident physicians at Bluestone Country Club in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Twelve physicians completed three years of training and are ready to begin their medical careers.

The ceremony featured speeches from Michael Motte, CEO of Suburban Community Hospital and Lower Bucks Hospital, and Shawn Parekh, CEO of Roxborough Memorial Hospital. Graduates received awards for their dedication to patient care. The Doctor Ernest Talone Intern of the Year Award was presented by Tony and Ernie Talone, while Dr. Ashley Miller and Dr. Mathew Mathew awarded the Resident of the Year Award. Dr. Bell presented the Steven Betz Intern of the Year Award. Residents also selected recipients for Teaching Resident of the Year and Michael Schorr Teaching Faculty of the Year Awards, presented by Dr. Athul Raj and Dr. Carl Hariraj.

Graduates included Christian Zhang, Marilyn Le, Camron Daghigh, Jeffrey Berg (Family Medicine), Muhammad Atif Ameer, Nimi Patel, Chakradhar Chandrupatla, Janaki Devara (Internal Medicine), Sanika Patil (Preliminary Medicine), Moumita Chakraborty, Kaushalendra Tripathi, and Adnan Aslam.

Residency is crucial for graduate medical training under attending physician supervision in order to obtain a U.S. medical license.

Michael Motte expressed pride in participating in the graduation ceremony: “Over the years, this program has been integral in reducing health disparities by increasing access to quality medical care in the community.” Shawn Parekh added: “Today marks a significant milestone not only for these graduates but also for the communities they will serve.”

Dr. Mathew Mathew addressed graduates: “You have endured long hours and sleepless nights… but today you stand as graduates.”

Suburban Community Hospital’s residency program offers comprehensive learning across various specialties such as pediatrics and cardiology through hospital rotations.

Looking forward, Roxborough Memorial Hospital will continue operating this program under Prime Healthcare.
