Chantelle “Tilly” Rowe has been appointed as the new Advanced Practice Provider Director at Temple Health. Rowe, who began her career in trauma nursing, originally pursued a path in atmospheric science and paramedic work. Her transition to nursing came after discovering her passion while working as a paramedic in an Emergency Department.
“My plan was to be an atmospheric scientist—also known as a ‘storm chaser’—and a paramedic,” Rowe stated. “I was working in the Emergency Department as a paramedic, and I loved it.”
Rowe’s journey took her from Utah to Roanoke, Virginia, where she worked at a Level I trauma center. There, she advanced into leadership roles that paved the way for her current position at Temple Health.
“I took over as Team Lead and was able to expand our practice even more by hiring additional APPs,” she said. She emphasized listening to concerns of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) and giving them a voice.
In Roanoke, Rowe implemented initiatives such as developing an APP orientation program and establishing an outpatient clinic for complex emergency surgery cases. These experiences contributed to her vision for empowering APPs at Temple Health.
“I’ve always wanted to care for the people who need it most: that’s why I was so interested in doing paramedic rescue after storms,” she explained.
Rowe’s goals include clinical integration, standardization of practices, and operational efficiency within Temple Health. “Clinical integration and standardization are at the top of my list,” she noted. She also aims to enhance workforce development through training tracks and mentorship programs.
Her focus remains on utilizing APPs effectively to improve healthcare access and patient care quality. “I’m here to listen, and to help your ideas be heard,” Rowe affirmed.
