Temple Health, Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, and Air Methods have formed a partnership to provide expanded air medical services across the region. The new service began operations on July 8 and is based at St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. It aims to enhance emergency care by enabling rapid transport of critically ill or injured patients within Bucks and Philadelphia counties.

The joint program uses an EC-135 medical transport helicopter that can reach locations within a 100-mile radius. The helicopter will be staffed with a dedicated flight crew from the Temple Transport Team (T3), while aviation services are managed by Air Methods. The service is available around the clock, ensuring that patients can be transported quickly to the most suitable medical facility, as determined by clinical teams, patients, or their families.

Abhinav Rastogi, Executive Vice President of Temple University Health System and President & CEO of Temple University Hospital, said: “The Temple Transport Team (T3) has cared for more than 70,000 critically ill patients since its inception in 2002.This partnership, which includes a ground critical care team, will ensure patients throughout the community get coordinated and enhanced access to high-acuity treatment any time in any kind of weather.”

Andre Boyd, president and CEO of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, commented: “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to delivering high-quality, lifesaving care to every corner of our region. By combining resources and expertise, we are creating a more connected emergency care network that ensures patients receive the critical interventions they need — wherever and whenever they need them.”

Steve Konold, Vice President of Air Method’s Northeast Region added: “We are proud to join forces with Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic and Temple Health to bring lifesaving air medical services to more communities across Pennsylvania. This partnership exemplifies our commitment to delivering critical care where and when it’s needed most, ensuring patients have access to expert medical transport no matter the time or place.”

All three organizations highlighted their shared mission to improve patient outcomes through collaboration.
