NBC Nightly News recently broadcast a segment highlighting the reunion of Zipporah Washington, a patient at Temple University Hospital, with the nurses and doctors who treated her. Washington, a young mother and nursing student, overcame an invasive tumor that affected her heart. The reunion took place on November 13 at Temple University Hospital.

The story was aired by television stations in several cities across the United States, including Boston, San Diego, Toledo, San Francisco, Nashville, Birmingham, Sacramento, Fresno, and Palm Springs.

Washington’s experience drew attention as she balanced her recovery with completing nursing school. The event served as an opportunity for her to thank the medical staff who supported her during treatment.

Labor & Delivery services have moved from Temple University Hospital–Main Campus (Broad & Ontario) to a new women & families hospital.
