Bernadette Baker, MD, an Assistant Professor of Clinical Family and Community Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, has been recognized with the June 2025 Temple Faculty Physicians (TFP) Kudos Award. This award acknowledges her contributions to Temple Health.

Dr. Baker’s nomination was submitted by Nina O’Connor, MD, Chair and Professor of Family and Community Medicine. In her nomination, Dr. O’Connor stated: “Dr. Baker joined the Family and Community Medicine faculty in August 2024 from a faculty position at Emory University. Since her arrival, Dr. Baker has consistently shown a positive and upbeat attitude that is appreciated by colleagues, staff, and learners alike.”

Dr. Baker quickly developed a loyal patient base in her clinic practice. One patient remarked on her care: “She listens and really cares. I love her.”

The award was presented to Dr. Baker by Amy J. Goldberg, MD, FACS, The Marjorie Joy Katz Dean of the Lewis Katz School of Medicine; Dr. Nina O’Connor; and Claire Raab, MD, President & CEO of Temple Faculty Physicians.

Dr. Baker was among the first Family Medicine providers at Temple Women & Families clinic where she worked closely with staff to ensure successful operations.

Additionally, she has played a significant role in the Family Medicine residency program as Associate Program Director where she helped organize a successful interview season and remains actively involved in resident education as a mentor.
