Kristin E. Criner, MD, an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, has provided guidance for patients with Type 2 diabetes who are experiencing common side effects from GLP-1 medications. In an interview with Everyday Health, Dr. Criner discussed strategies to help manage these side effects.

GLP-1 receptor agonists are a class of drugs often prescribed to people with Type 2 diabetes to help control blood sugar levels. These medications can cause gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea and vomiting in some patients.

Dr. Criner’s advice is intended to support individuals who may be struggling with these issues while using GLP-1s as part of their diabetes management plan.
