Temple Women & Families Hospital will begin operations on September 3, introducing inpatient services such as maternity care, labor and delivery, and a neonatal intensive care unit. These new offerings expand upon the hospital’s existing outpatient services, which include gynecology, radiology, family medicine, pediatrics, and operating rooms for same-day surgeries.
As part of this transition, Temple University Hospital – Main Campus at Broad and Ontario Streets will stop providing Labor and Delivery services starting at 8:00 AM on September 3. All childbirth-related care will move to the new facility.
The upcoming opening has received coverage from several media outlets. News organizations including 6abc, CBS News Philadelphia, NBC10, Telemundo62, Fox29, KYW News Radio, The Philadelphia Inquirer, WHYY and Philly Voice have reported on tours of the new campus. Additionally, Becker’s Hospital Review, Healthcare Design and Philanthropy News Digest have published articles about the launch.
A transit alert notes that significant reductions in bus, subway and rail service may impact travel to Temple’s campuses.
