The third month of the 2025 baseball season highlighted several standout performances across Major League Baseball. Players and pitchers from both leagues achieved notable feats, with some earning monthly honors for their exceptional contributions.
In the American League, Cal Raleigh of the Mariners was named Player of the Month. Raleigh continued his impressive home run streak, achieving a .300/.398/.690 slash line with 11 homers and 27 RBIs in June. His performance keeps him on track to potentially break the single-season home run record by a catcher.
For the National League, Juan Soto of the Mets earned Player of the Month recognition. Soto delivered one of his best months yet, with a .322/.474/.722 slash line and 11 home runs in June. This is Soto’s first Player of the Month honor.
Hunter Brown from the Astros was awarded AL Pitcher of the Month. Brown maintained an ERA under 2.00 for the season, largely due to his strong performance in June where he allowed only four runs over 30 1/3 innings.
Zack Wheeler of the Phillies received NL Pitcher of the Month honors after closing June with a remarkable eight scoreless innings against the Padres. Wheeler’s MLB-best 0.58 ERA and 42 strikeouts in 31 innings mark an outstanding month for him.
Nick Kurtz from the Athletics was named AL Rookie of the Month after making a significant impact upon returning from a hip flexor strain on June 9. Kurtz hit seven home runs during June, including crucial game-winning hits.
Jacob Misiorowski from the Brewers claimed NL Rookie of the Month honors despite only three starts. Misiorowski’s debut featured five no-hit innings and he recorded a total of 19 strikeouts in just 16 innings with a 1.13 ERA.
Josh Hader from the Astros was recognized as AL Reliever of the Month. Hader played an essential role in Houston’s successful June, achieving nine saves and posting a 1.98 ERA over his appearances.
David Bednar from the Pirates was awarded NL Reliever of the Month after allowing just one unearned run in June over ten innings pitched while striking out sixteen batters.
