FOIA Request to Dekalb County Regarding Vendor Payments from January to September 2024.
In our continuous efforts to provide comprehensive and accurate news coverage on local governmental affairs, we at DeKalb Times have sent a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to Dekalb County. The request was sent on September 26, 2024, seeking records of all payments made to vendors from the start of the year until the date of the request.
Specifically, we asked for a list detailing each payment that includes the vendor's name, transaction date, description of the transaction, and the amount paid.
As a media organization dedicated to holding public institutions accountable and providing transparency to the public, access to such public records is crucial for us. We believe this information will aid in our mission to keep our readers informed about how their tax dollars are being spent.
We have also requested a fee waiver as a media professional given our role in disseminating information.
We will continue to follow up on this request and report back with any findings that emerge from these records. As always, we remain committed to delivering reliable and pertinent news about local government affairs in DeKalb County.
