Congressman Dwight Evans opposes mass firings impacting veteran benefits

Congressman Dwight Evans, representing Pennsylvania’s 3rd district since 2016, recently addressed concerns and achievements through his social media platform. The Congressman expressed opposition to recent administrative actions and highlighted financial contributions secured for his district.

On March 7, 2025, Congressman Evans shared a statement from VA Secretary Collins addressing veterans' concerns about the impact of mass firings on their healthcare and benefits. "VA Secretary Collins tells veterans concerned about the impact of Trump’s mass firings on their EARNED health care & benefits: 'We'll be making major changes. So, get used to it.' I oppose the Trump-Musk mass firings and funding freezes and will continue to speak out against..."

Later that day, he thanked The Chestnut Hill Local for reporting on his State of the District report. In this tweet, he mentioned securing over $13.3 million in federal funding for Pennsylvania's 3rd District in 2024 and helping return an additional $4.5 million back to Philadelphians from federal agencies. "Thank you to the @TheCHLocal for reporting on my State of the District report! #ICYMI in 2024, I secured over $13.3 million in federal funding for #PA03 and my office helped return another $4.5 million back to Philadelphians from federal agencies!"
