In a series of recent Twitter posts, Congressman Dwight Evans, who has served in the U.S. Congress representing Pennsylvania's 3rd District since 2016, expressed his views on various political issues and actions related to the current administration. Evans has a background in public service dating back to 1981 and is known for his active voice on social media platforms.

In a tweet posted on April 2, 2025, Evans criticized the leadership of the Musk-Trump administration, calling on them to "reverse the damage they've done to people's lives, services, and earned benefits". He suggested that even if certain individuals left, it would not be sufficient unless Musk's "DOGE wrecking crew" also departed, highlighting his critical stance on current policies.

Later that day, at 22:00, he expressed his opposition to Trump's tariff policies, stating that despite promises to lower prices, the new "reckless, across-the-board tariff scheme will raise prices" for Philadelphians. He linked these tariffs to funding tax cuts for "GOP billionaire donors," suggesting a disconnect between the administration's promises and their fiscal measures.

At 22:55 on the same day, Evans voiced his concerns about civil rights abuses, condemning the arrest and deportation of individuals for exercising free speech or for wearing certain apparel like a Michael Jordan jersey. He reaffirmed his commitment to opposing such practices through legislative efforts and public statements.
