Congressman Dwight Evans, who represents Pennsylvania’s 3rd district, has shared a series of statements on social media concerning recent events. Evans, 68, is a Philadelphia native, a graduate of La Salle University, and has been serving in the U.S. Congress since 2016.

On April 20, 2025, Congressman Evans extended holiday wishes via his social media platform to his constituents, saying, "Happy Easter Philly! Wishing everyone celebrating a happy and blessed holiday!"

The following day, April 21, 2025, Evans expressed sorrow over the death of Pope Francis, mentioning the Pope's lifelong commitment to humanitarian causes. He remarked, "I’m saddened to hear of the passing of Pope Francis. Pope Francis was a tireless advocate for the poor and the marginalized, and an incredible champion for global peace and human rights. May he rest in peace, and may his legacy of compassion, humility, & empathy live on for".

Later that same day, Evans addressed a national security issue, criticizing the actions of members of the Trump Administration. Referring directly to an individual involved, Evans stated, "This is yet another egregious violation of our national security by the Trump Administration. At the very least, Pete Hegseth must immediately resign or be fired."

Dwight Evans, serving in Congress since 2016 after succeeding Chaka Fattah, is a well-known political figure whose views often reflect his long-standing commitment to advocacy and governance.
