Arcadia University Athletics issued the following announcement on Sept. 24.
The Arcadia University women's golf team opened its 2021-22 season at the Golden Oaks Shootout on Friday. Joyce Jung led the Knights with a career-best 82 (+10) on the afternoon, while Micaela Uriegas carded an 86 (+14) to place inside the tournaments' top-10 after one round of play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jung is tied for sixth overall after shooting an 82 in the opening round. The junior improved her previous best, which was achieved in the second round of the 2021 MAC Championships, by six strokes.
- Uriegas is tied for 10th overall after 18-holes of play. The senior carded an 86 (+14) to place second on the team. Brea Pigatt and Gabby Smalley rounded out the Knights scorers with a 107 and 109, respectively.
- Paige Diaz carded a career-best 91 as an individual competitor. The Knights sophomore improved her previous-best by five strokes.
