Colonial States Athletic Conference issued the following announcement on Mar. 21.
The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce the Weekly Award winners for March 21, 2022. This includes Players of the Week in Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s Volleyball, Women’s Lacrosse, Women’s Tennis, Softball and Baseball as well as Honor Roll selections in each sport.
A total of 38 student-athletes were honored.
Men’s Lacrosse
Player of the Week
Navarro Blakes | Rosemont College | M/A | Fr. | Prince George’s County, Md./Northwestern
Netted three goals and eight assists in a win over Centenary on Saturday.
Defensive Player of the Week
David Metzger | Montclair State University | GK | Gr. | Mendham, N.J./Pingry
Stopped 32 shots in a 2-0 week, with 18 saves in a win over Misericordia.
Honor Roll
Keystone’s Tyler McManus who had three goals and two assists with seven shots on Saturday against Wells…Cairn’s Jonathan Balsamo who had two goals and one assist against Purchase…Montclair’s Tyler McCreery who had six goals and six assists over two wins…Stockton’s Dante Poli who had 11 points on six goals and five assists in a win over Maritime…Keystone’s Gabe Reyes who had three caused turnovers and three ground balls against Wells…Cairn’s Nico Cione who had 20 saves and four ground balls against Purchase...Rosemont’s Kenny Wiggins who had nine saves against Centenary…Stockton’s Tyler Horvath who was 23-for-34 on faceoff with 11 ground balls.

Helped Pratt to its first win of the season on Saturday, finishing with 12 kills, five digs and four services against Rosemont.

Daniel Chavez | Saint Elizabeth University | L | Jr. | Bloomfield, N.J./Bloomfield
Had 16 digs across two matches.
Honor Roll
Wilson’s Eric Holz who had 15 digs in four wins last week…Cairn’s Joe Poirier who had 12 kills in a win over Saint Elizabeth last week…Saint Elizabeth’s Kodi Peters who had 27 kills in two matches last week…Cairn’s Joshua Hoagland who had five digs and five blocks across two matches.
Women’s Lacrosse
Player of the Week
Sarah Southard | Sweet Briar College | MF | So. | Culpepper, Va./Eastern View
Southard totaled six goals over the course of the week with a hattrick against both Hollins and EMU. In the Vixens' 17-4 victory over Hollins the Culpeper, Va. native added five helpers to her point total, the second-highest amount of assists she's registered this year. Southard also scored the game-winning goal in Sweet Briar's 6-4 victory over EMU.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kaitlyn Burns | Sweet Briar College | D | Fr. | Moneta, Va./Staunton River
Burns tallied seven caused turnovers and four ground balls this past week. All of her ground ball pickups and six of her caused turnovers came in the EMU game. The Moneta, Va. native led the team in CTO and GB in the Vixens' 6-4 victory over the Royals.

Bryn Athyn’s Payton Gormley who had six goals against Rutgers-Camden…Cedar Crest’s Maddie Graham who had a hat trick against Wells…Notre Dame’s Sara Morales who had three goals against Bryn Mawr…Notre Dame’s Brooke Siebert who led the Gators defensive with three caused turnovers and five draw controls against Bryn Mawr.
Softball
Player of the Week
Taylor Barker | Wilson College | 1B | Jr. | Chehalis, Wash./W.F. West
Had 12 hits during the Phoenix’s ten-game Spring Break swing. Netted a hit in every game but one.
Pitcher of the Week
Megan Potter | Wilson College | RHP | Gr. | Hagerstown, Md./South Hagerstown
Went 4-0 on Spring Break with 27 innings pitched, netting 45 strikeouts and allowed just 14 hits.

Notre Dame’s Maci Lopez who was 9-for-13 in four games last weekend…Cairn’s Theresa Beck who went 2-for-4 against PSU-Abington…Clarks Summit’s Randie Traxler who went 5-for-5 in a DH against PSU-Scranton…Keystone’s Paige Mokychic who went .348 with two home runs, two triples and ten RBI on their Spring Break trip…Notre Dame’s Jessie Leatherwood who went 2-0 on opening weekend for the Gators…Keystone’s Amber Stansfield who registered a 4.20 ERA during Spring Break…Clarks Summit’s Elyse Gunther who threw 16 strikeouts in a win over PSU-Scranton.

Went 5-for-15 at the plate, including a 2-for-4 stint with 3 RBI in a win over Keystone.
Pitcher of the Week
Brandon Valles | Keystone College | LHP | Fr. | Toms River, N.J./Toms River North
Earned two saves last week, including allowing just one hit in a save against Wilson.
Honor Roll
Keystone’s Bobby Pokorney who went .350 in six games last week…Cairn’s Josh Melchior who went 4-for-7 in two games last week…Cairn’s Cameron Culver who gave up six hits in a complete game win over Centenary…Wilson’s Cam Nolet who allowed three hits in a win over Keystone.
Women’s Tennis
Player of the Week
Sarah Jackson | Cairn University | Sr. | Middletown, N.J./Middlesex Community College
Went undefeated (6-1, 6-4) (6-4, 4-2) (6-0, 6-0) at No. 4 singles during Cairn's Spring Break Trip to Hilton Head, South Carolina. Also paired with freshman Ersy Neal to collect a 2-1 record at No. 2 Doubles over the week.
