Colonial States Athletic Conference issued the following announcement on Apr. 5.

The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its 2022 Men’s Volleyball End of Year Awards. These awards include All-CSAC, All-Sportsmanship, Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year and the 3-D Award.

This team was voted upon by the league’s seven head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players.

Player of the Year honors went to Cairn University junior Caleb Horning (Adamstown, Pa./Lancaster Bible College). Horning Is the second player from Cairn to win this award, joining Scott Bassill back in 2020. Horning leads the team with 135 kills and has a hitting percentage of .311. He also has 35 service aces and ten blocks. He is a first-team All-CSAC selection.

Defensive Player of the Year honors went to Cairn junior Josh Moyer (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown). This is the second straight year that Moyer has won the award, as he shared it last year with CJ Koskulitz of Saint Elizabeth. He leads the Highlanders with 144 digs and committed just 11 reception errors on 285 total attempts. He is a first-team All-CSAC selection.

Rookie of the Year went to University of Valley Forge freshman Nathan Whisman (Fisherville, Va./Grace Christian). This is the first Rookie of the Year award for Valley Forge in men’s volleyball. Whisman finished with a team-high 146 kills and had 21 service aces. He also had a team-best 22 blocks. He is a second-team All-CSAC selection.

Coach of the Year honors went to University of Valley Forge head coach Kyle Mariano. This year, he led the Patriots to a 6-13 mark, after finishing with just one win last year. The Patriots finished the season with a six match winning streak.

The 3-D Award winner was Saint Elizabeth University. Implemented for the 2011-12 academic year, the Colonial States Athletic Conference 3D Award replaced the CSAC Team Sportsmanship Award. The 3D Award recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). This is the first year that Saint Elizabeth has won the award.
