55base

Colonial States Athletic Conference issued the following announcement on May 5.

The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce its 2022 Baseball End of Year Awards. These awards include All-CSAC (First, Second, Honorable Mention as well as All-Sportsmanship) in addition to Player, Pitcher, Rookie and Coach of the Year.

The players were nominated by their coaches, who then voted but could not vote for their own players.

The Player of the Year is Keystone senior catcher RJ Gouldsbury (Throop, Pa./Mid Valley). A first-team All-CSAC selection, Gouldsbury batted .326 this season with 47 hits and 47 RBI. He scored 39 runs and had 11 home runs. He also added in 13 doubles.

The Pitcher of the Year is Wilson senior Cam Nolet (Annapolis, Md.,/S.C. Aiken). A first-team All-CSAC selection, Nolet went 7-0 this season with 111 strikeouts. He allowed just 19 earned runs, and posted a 2.60 ERA. He walked just 22 batters in 14 games.

The Rookie of the Year is Wilson freshman pitcher Chris Baumann (Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill). A first-team All-CSAC selection, Baumann led the Phoenix in team ERA at 2.03 and had 87 strikeouts. He went 9-2 with just 12 earned runs in 53.1 innings pitched.

The Coach of the Year is Wilson manager John Poss. This year, he led the Phoenix to a 28-9 overall record and a 10-2 mark in the CSAC.

The 3-D Award was shared by Clarks Summit and Rosemont. Implemented for the 2011-12 academic year, the Colonial States Athletic Conference 3D Award replaced the CSAC Team Sportsmanship Award. The 3D Award recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
