Colonial States Athletic Conference issued the following announcement on May 27.
For the first time since the 2018-19 season, the Colonial States Athletic Conference has awarded The President’s Cup to the Men’s, Women’s and Overall athletics programs with the highest competitive percentage rating, obtained from championship and regular season play.
For the first time in school history, Wilson College has been awarded all three cups. Wilson also becomes the first school to capture all three cups since Cabrini did it during the 2015-16 season.
Wilson College captured 77.7 percent of its potential points. The Phoenix won CSAC Championships in field hockey, men’s basketball and softball, while finishing as the runner-up in baseball.
“Wilson College is honored to receive all three CSAC President’s Cups,” said Wilson College President Dr. Wes Fugate. “These awards are the result of countless hours of hard work from our talented and dedicated student-athletes, coaches, and athletics staff. Our teams competed with extraordinary passion and pride, and I commend them for their accomplishment. The entire Wilson community is proud of the academic and athletic excellence displayed by our teams.”
On the men’s side, the Phoenix captured 71.9 percent of its potential points, while taking 81.5 percent of its potential points on the women’s side.
“For Wilson to earn not only our first-ever President’s Cup, but to claim all three is truly amazing,” said Wilson College Director of Athletics Tina Hill. “This recognition is a testament to the tremendous work of our student-athletes and coaches and I am so very proud of each of them. It takes many people working hard, from support staff to facilities personnel, to make this happen and this recognition is a culmination of that collaborative, team effort.“
Cedar Crest College was second in the overall cup standings, taking 71.8 percent of its potential points. The Falcons won CSAC titles in volleyball and in cross country, while finishing runner-up in field hockey and women’s tennis. Cairn University was third overall with 71.3 percent of its potential points, while Notre Dame of Maryland University was fourth with 55.4 percent.
In the men’s cup, Cairn was second with 70.8 percent of its potential points, while Keystone College was third with 62.8 percent and Saint Elizabeth University was fourth with 59.5 percent.
In the women’s cup, Cairn was second at 71.9 percent of its potential points, with Cedar Crest third at 71.8 percent and Bryn Athyn College fourth at 60 percent.
Institutional scores for the President's Cup are calculated using a graduated point system, with each participating institution earning a pro-rated share, based on conference finish. The competitive percentage rating is determined by dividing the total number of points earned by an institution by its total possible points.
