Congressman Dwight Evans, representing Pennsylvania’s 3rd district, shared a series of tweets addressing key issues and developments affecting his constituents. His comments ranged from federal funding allocations to critiques of current government leadership.

On March 10, 2025, Congressman Evans highlighted significant National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding for the Philadelphia region. He stated that "The Philly region receives $1.7 BILLION in NIH funding- making life-saving research, from developing cancer vaccines to studying rare disease treatments, possible." He also quoted a physician-scientist from Center City emphasizing the importance of this funding in efforts to "Make America Healthy Again."

The following day, on March 11, 2025, Evans criticized terminology used by political opponents regarding social benefits. He tweeted that “Entitlements” = Republican Establishment phrase for your EARNED benefits like Social Security & Medicare – benefits that I & my Democratic colleagues will keep fighting to defend from Co-Presidents Musk & Trump!”

Later on March 11, he expressed concern over recent governmental actions attributed to current leadership. Evans noted that "Co-presidents Musk & Trump have already caused partial government shutdowns through mass firings and funding freezes." He warned that proposed congressional GOP's funding package could exacerbate these issues by harming veterans, seniors, and families in Philadelphia and beyond.
