Congressman Dwight Evans, representing Pennsylvania's 3rd district, publicly addressed various political issues on social media through a series of tweets. His statements focused on criticism of former President Donald Trump’s approach to pricing and tariffs, as well as concerns regarding billionaire Elon Musk's alleged impact on Social Security.

On March 31, 2025, Congressman Evans criticized former President Trump’s handling of economic policies. Highlighting the disparity between Trump's campaign promises and subsequent actions, Evans stated: "First Trump promised to lower prices on day 1. Then he told you to 'shut up about egg prices.' Now it's day 71 and Trump just said he 'couldn't care less' if auto prices spike because of his constantly changing tariffs- and hard-working Americans foot the bill!"

In a subsequent tweet posted on the same day, Evans directed attention to Elon Musk's involvement with the cryptocurrency DOGE and its potential effects on Social Security. He invited the public to "Learn more about what Musk’s DOGE has been doing to Social Security."

Later that day, Evans recounted a rally held in Philadelphia, accompanied by prominent local leaders. The rally aimed at delivering a message to Elon Musk and those linked with DOGE regarding their influence over Social Security. Evans stated: "Last week, I rallied in Philly with @RepMGS, @SenHughesOffice, @SenSharifStreet, @CouncilmemberJG and other local leaders with a message for billionaire GOP donor Elon Musk and his DOGE cronies- Get your hands OFF Social Security!"
