His recent tweets touch upon topics ranging from tariff actions by former President Trump to decisions made by congressional Republicans that affect state funding and social benefits.

On April 1, 2025, Congressman Dwight Evans criticized former President Donald Trump's tariff policies, indicating that these actions would lead to significant cost increases for families across Pennsylvania and other areas. Evans stated, "Trump's ill-advised tariff actions tomorrow will release a new wave of price hikes on hard-working families in PA & beyond." He argued that these tariffs are essentially taxes on citizens and a means for Republicans in Congress to fund tax cuts for the wealthy.

Later that day, Evans commented on the limitations of presidential power, emphasizing the role of Congress in appropriating funds. He praised Governor Shapiro for his legal actions concerning federal financial decisions, stating, "A president is NOT a dictator – when Congress appropriates funding & it’s signed into law, the Constitution says that’s it."

In another post, Evans shared his opposition to a House Republican budget proposal that he believes would dramatically reduce spending on social services. On April 1, 2025, he expressed his disapproval by stating, "I voted NO on the House Republican budget blueprint that 'unlocks' $880 billion in Medicaid cuts & $230 billion in SNAP food aid cuts." He urged senators from Pennsylvania to oppose these proposed cuts as well.
