Congressman Dwight Evans, a U.S. representative for Pennsylvania's 3rd district, is vocal about his concerns surrounding recent political decisions from the Trump administration. Via Twitter, Evans has pointedly addressed issues of funding cuts, healthcare, and trade policies. Evans began his political career in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and has served in Congress since 2016.

On April 8, Evans highlighted the impact of budget cuts on research institutions. A tweet specified, "Research institutions, like @Penn and @DrexelUniv, have been forced to halt their life-saving research because of Trump's cuts to NIH funding." This comment was made following a health subcommittee hearing where Evans queried the potential long-term effects of these policy decisions.

On April 9, Evans expressed concern regarding proposed Medicaid cuts, highlighting the reliance of Pennsylvanians on this program. He stated, "Nearly 3.2 million Pennsylvanians count on Medicaid for health care, from childbirth to nursing homes. It keeps urban AND rural hospitals open." Evans urged Republicans to consider former Governor Corbett's warnings about the detrimental effects of a substantial Medicaid funding reduction.

Later the same day, Evans critiqued the Trump administration's handling of trade policies with a query, "Guessing the U.S. trade representative isn’t in the tariff group chat…" Evans questioned the coherence and communication within the administration regarding tariff policies.
