WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Brendan F. Boyle (PA02) issued the following statement on this day marking the 100th day of Evan Gershkovich’s wrongful detainment by Russian authorities:
“Today marks 100 days of Russia’s wrongful detainment of Wall Street Journal correspondent Evan Gershkovich. For the past several months, Evan’s parents, who are my constituents, have been robbed of the ability to spend time with their son. Evan could have been home in Philadelphia for Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, graduation parties, or many of life’s other celebrations and family occasions. But that opportunity was taken away as a result of the Kremlin’s lies and allegations as it continues to wrongfully hold Evan hostage. On this grim occasion, I reiterate my solidarity for Evan and convey my support for efforts to immediately and unconditionally have him, Paul Whelan, and Marc Fogel released.”
